so far so good
It's Monday morning and T got up very easily! That was the first Monday morning in a very long time. He actually was talkative! He did remind me, however, that he forgot his Nicorette gum, which means I have to go up to the school. I hate going up there. I feel like a kindergarten room mom - always up there. I have a feeling I will be having to talk to the asst. principal today because of the stunt T pulled on Friday -leaving home while I was gone and never making it to school. He thought it made perfect sense to be sick - together at his friend's - who was sick, too. I really believe nothing "shady" was going on because he really didn't feel well this weekend. Never went out Friday night, was home an hour before curfew Saturday night, and had played football Sunday evening, coming home early. I told the asst. principal that T's behavior does not indicate drug usage. Even though T isn't using, doesn't - of course - doesn't excuse his skipping school. Understandably, I'm sure the AP suspects that T may be back to his using days and that I'm in denial? Who knows. I could be off about that one because the AP called it last time when T slipped. So I'm sure he sees an improvement. Well - today is the day we drive over an hour and a half to the 90 day drug treatment center for T's assessment. I'm not nervous, at all. I can tell that T isn't either, since he isn't using he knows he won't be accepted. ** Actually, I found out later that he was, indeed, nervous about the assessment.

UPDATE: I should have known better. What was I thinkin\'? I guess I was getting a bit to cocky to think this particular Monday would be any different.
Well - I was right - the AP did want to talk to me when I went up to school. This time T didn\'t want to serve the In-School Suspension (ISS) so he was MIA for a bit. I don\'t recall where they found him but he ended up telling the AP that he\'s too upset to serve it today (will do it tomorrow) because of his assessment today. Said he wouldn\'t be able to concentrate in that room. Of course, he didn\'t have a choice. He was angry but went. AP just wanted to let me know what happened. He also guessed that T would pull a fast one and say that he\'s \"sick\". It was a good guess because that was exactly what he did. We also agreed that T would not be allowed to come home sick. Well...T didn\'t care and called me asking me to pick him up. I told him no. AP called to tell me that T took off out of his office and if he doesn\'t show up here, he\'d have to call the police. I had a strong feeling that he would come home, and he did. So.. AP had to call T\'s PO. I had to call the PO. The PO said that T is extremely close to be violated if his assessment comes back that he needs treatment and if T\'s attitude is negative. A lot of ifs at this point. PO is losing his patience. He said the only reason he hasn\'t been voilated before for past behaviors is because T is in a special program that offers more support. It\'s going to be an extremely emotional trip and few days. I must be strong. I have faith that God will see us through this.
Sorry it was a tough day. I will be out of town until Thursday and I will check in then. Hope the assesment went well.
