So So
Last week was rough. I think meds are making me sleepy, and perhaps a little depressed? Not to mention what is going on here. I am so tired and feel so blah and don't feel like doing anything. I almost feel robotic at times and just want to go to bed. I can't even read my book. Have appt to go to Dr on 9/1/10. Will discuss this with him. Have not taken Xanax in a few days. Got 3 new fires last week and just feeling like getting no where. House is a mess and Paul is all stressed out and screaming. He does apologize at times. He recognizes his behavior. no panic attacks in several weeks, but a bunch of hot flashes/nausea. Today, woke up feeling like I am getting a summer cold- sore throat, sneezes, sniffles, achy, head filled up, etc.
School starts 8/31. Yeah! Not a bad summer all things considering where David is concerned, but he was grounded for quite some time for the incident at the store. I need to schedule a week to go visit my Dad and go away. I think it will help to have something to look forward to, and I need time off. I am taking 9/22 off to go see Jersey Boys on Broadway with my Mom and Paul in NYC.
I went to Atlantic City on Saturday and Sunday with some friends. It was ok. I almost didn't want to go. Paul throwing guilt trips on me did not help. 4 of us went. I did walk over 8 miles on Saturday and went dancing Saturday night at Cuba Libre in the Tropicanna. It was Latin music. A lot of fun. They even played some music I recognized from Zumba class. But there were some sleezy guys. It did make me grateful to NOT be in the dating scene, that is for sure! It was expensive, and I did throw $50 in a couple of slot machines. And the food wasn't great (hamburger and fries at Johnny Rockets for lunch!, Ben & Jerry's chocolate ice cream on the boardwalk, tortellini and grilled vegetables for dinner, pizza for a snack on the boardwalk at 2AM after dancing.) I did not drink, other than diet Coke, all night and some water. I got in over 20,000 steps on Saturday. it poured rain yesterday and we had high winds. But we had good weather for the boardwalk on Saturday. I did have a couple of bad hot flash/nausea episodes yesterday afternoon.
So trying today to get past the blahs, get back to exercise, eating better. Hopefully this cold will blow over soon.

Hope you are feeling better soon. It seems a lot of people are getting what ever it is - cold or virus. Sorry to hear the house renovations are getting Paul so upset - it can be a trying time.
Wow-Atlantic City...I haven\'t been to the shore all summer but Atlantic City never appealed to me. I LOVE Cape May and Wildwood though! It does sound like you had fun...even if sleezy guys were on the scene. Seems sleezy guys always come out of the woodwork whenever ladies are out without their men. UGH!
I think they have radar. :-/
You did OK though...all those steps in ONE day!!!!??? OMG that is EPIC! And between that and the dancing I cannot imagine that your food was an issue. You more than likely dropped weight!
I hear ya on the hot flash front. I am my own personal climate change! Last night and this morning it has been REALLY bad! Maybe the fluctuating weather is a factor?
Yes, when school starts it will be a huge relief!!!!
Sorry about the stress surrounding work and the house...just remember this is a temporary state and in a few months the house will be done and hopefully the work issues will resolve in a positive manner...just focus on positivity! Love you!
You did great with all those steps. Glad to hear you had some fun. With all the stress you are having with family and health you need to get away and have some fun. Hope things are better for you soon.
Glad to hear you got out anyway. I know you have so much on your plate, I am still amazed at how you do it all - work, family, new kitchen, dealing with your health, etc. ...Just thinking about you...
Are you getting in relaxation exercises?
Fries, burger, pizza, ice cream and you also got to see some sleazy men?? Sounds like heaven! LOL
I take Cymbalta for depression and Zyprexa to keep me sane. Sometimes I get WILD dreams about sleazy men! Love it, keeps me feeling alive.
I\'m originally from Philly, so went to AC many times. Once I walked about six miles up and down the boardwalk all day. Came home with a \"runner\'s high\" (even tho I just walked).
As for hot flashes, try Black Cohosh herb. My periods didn\'t stop till I was 54. Menopause now blessedly has faded into a distant nightmare. Keep the faith!
Yeah, I guess fries, burger, pizza and ice cream and sleezy guys could be heaven, couldn\'t it? Oh, and I even got carded at the door! LOL! That was the best part!
Sounded like a great weekend, hope you were glad you went. I could use some fun!!! Glad your feeling better but hope you don\'t get sick with a cold! Sorry about the workload and hope you get a getaway soon! Is David looking forward to school??? What grade is he in now??? Jersey Boys - Cool, enjoy!!! Hope the Dr appt. goes well! Have a great rest of the week Yvette!!! Hang in there. Hope the kitchen is going smoothly!
Hope you \'re summer cold is better soon.
The hot flashes are not fun especially when accompanied by nausea.
The weekend at AC sounds great. Hope you enjoyed it even though Paul gave you the guilt trip. You needed to get away.
I hope when you see the Doctor in Sept. you will have all your information for him so that he can correct your medication.
Have a great week. HUgs
Whew! Hope you start to feel like yourself again soon. I know what it\'s like to deal with the meds, although I think I found the right now, Buspar. It\'s helping so much! We\'ll see how the rest of the month goes. Your trip with your friends sounds like fun! My friends always make me feel better! Great job getting in step and cardio as well! Keep it up!
