I also have COPD. Dealing with everything as best as I can. I spend a lot of time by myself so no one can tell I can't breath so great. Would love to talk to someone in the same situation. Will write again.
Not knowing the extent of your COPD, I can only say that isolating yourself is not good but I do understand your reason. It was hard for me to wear oxygen for the first time in public.
I hope that you stay with the group and just read what others deal with and it will give you some insight into ways that you also can adjust to your disease. There are so many innovative people in theis forum that you will slowly gain your footing.
Just stay tuned. :) Hugs, Anna
This discussion certainly woke us up! I\'ve geen thinking more on the subject \"Where is Everybody?\" One thing for me is that right now I feel much better than when I started on this group last year. I\'m better because of the group - better about meds, better about aggressively seeing doctors, better about not getting down, better about learning. There are some discussions which don\'t apply to me so I just move on. This should probably be treated the same when there\'s the interpretation of rudeness - it could be rudeness or it could be \"tough love\" i.e. something we don\'t want to hear, but should.
Hello and I hope you continue to gain much info from this group. I hope that they will treat you fairly and with kindness. There a few of mean members, but I try to stay away from them. We are all emotional and don\'t need more drama in our life. We struggle everyday and it really does help to have others with the same problems to share our thoughts with. Hope we can all be of help to each other and get to know each other better. Here\'s to good breathing.

Trying to stay warm today. Its rather chilly about 7 this morning The sun is out and its a really pretty day. I did have a little problem yesterday. Went shopping with a friend and she smoked in the car. I thought I was going to be sick but I didn\'t say anything. OK I know it was bad on my part but I couldn\'t tell her of my breathing . Not sure how to handle the situation!
Barb, dont be afraid to say something about cigs.you dont have to explain the reasons if you dont want them to know. just say cig smoke bothers you alot &leave it at that if you wish. second hand smoke is just as bad for us so dont hurt YOU.
I am going for the testing in NYC for possible LVRS. I did ask once if anyone has had the surgery and I did have one reply. If anyone else can give input it would be great.
Thanks
Barb, I have not but I am not sure if it is available to me but if it were, I would have it done. I don\'t remember anyone other than sassyme that has had it but she seems to be unstopable so for her it was a blessing it seems.
I think with this disease (or any disease for that matter) you just have to be as proactive in helping yourself as possible. Would you keep us informed?
my very best to you,
Anna
Thanks for getting back to me. The testing is April 11 and 12 and hopefully they can tell be if i qualify. I will have it done if I can. I guess I would do anything. Will let you know.

Barb, you are off to a running start now so just keep the pace.

dont be afraid to talk about anything you want. we all have emotions all over the board, so someone will know exactly how you feel!
