Snow & Ice are melting

Well, it's been warmer in the Northeast lately & the snow & ice have been melting.  There's still a lot of it, but it's receding.  You can actually see over the snowbanks so that you don't hit oncoming cars.  That's a good thing!  And now my driveway is not all icy & dangerous and my walkways are wider.
We're gonna get another cold snap today & maybe snow later in the week, but that should be followed by a BIG thaw.  Silly to talk about the weather, I know, but just the thought of all that makes me glad.  Gotta grab the glad!
I expressed to my son how angry I was with him about his lateness.  All he can say is how tired he is, but as I say, we're all tired.  And if he keeps this up, he'll end up staying back & I know he doesn't want that.  Will it help?  I don't know.  But I've spoken my peace.  As a speaker I heard once said, sometimes you have to speak the truth just for you.  I think it was good for me that I did. 
Got some happy news yesterday as well:  I may be meeting a third cousin this summer!  We made contact after my aunt died & have been exchanging genealogical information with each other.  They live in NJ & plan on a trip to northern New England, so they'll probably pass through my town!  It's cool to have a new family member with the same passion as I do.
