Smiley Monday
i have been down for the last few days and very tired. I went back to bed yesterday and slept until 1130. Today, I had an afternoon nap. This is most unlike me! Perhaps I am fighting off a bug. I did have my flu shot so should be okay on that front.
So what am I smiling about? I gave Joe his last needle in the belly today. His INR (clotting) is improving. Meaning that his blood is taking longer to clot - which for him is a good thing. So he no longer needs a needle. The pills will be enough. His stomach looks like he has taken a beating - blue and yellow bruises caused by the heparin.
It snowed yesterday but we did walk downtown to an organ concert. Today it was sunny but windy. I just didn't have the energy to walk today. So we wimped out and drove to a Gordon Lightfoot concert. It was rather sad. His voice is failing. I wonder why he keeps performing. But it was a blast from the past.
Staying positive has been hard for the last while. But i am doing my best.
I am missing Lisa - a lot.

Been fighting a cold here....sipping TheraFlu and Gatorade and eating chicken soup....a good remedy. Finally feeling better. I hope you\'ll soon be feeling better too!
Great news about Joe!! I HATE needles!!
We watched Elton John on TV the other night and said the same thing...his voice has definitely changed. Sad. Roger actually sounds more like Sir Elton singing karaoke than the man himself! We love Gordon Lightfoot too and it\'s sad to think about the greats losing some of their gifts.
Everyday doesn\'t have to be a \"positive day\"....but I do think there is something positive in every day. Of course SEEing it is not always easy!! We are all just doing our best....and isn\'t it amazing how great that is!!
Missing Kala a lot too. I so understand.
Love you sweet friend!
Love to Lisa!
My worst struggle is feeling useless and a burden to my 2 older children. Colleen was the centre of and reason for my whole existance. It is not easy to start a new path in life again. I admire your positive steps, my friend! I\'m also grateful with you that Joe\'s condition is improving so well!
Just keep on going, you are a huge inspiration to me!
Warm hugs xxx
Hope you are back to your old perky self very soon Marlene. So glad that Joe\'s blood condition is improving.
I\'m now taking insulin shots for my diabetes but I have one of those \'pen\' things to give the shot, and the needle is so small I can\'t even feel it. Yay for technology.
Tight hugs,
Terry
naps are the best... keep taking naps,,,, good for you ones!!!!! performers will perform as long as they can,,, we have tooooo! love ya!
Some weekends I seem to sleep a whole day away...sometimes we just need it. Glad to hear your hubby is doing better. xoxoxo Connie

Maybe your body was reacting to missing Lisa.
Yesterday I watched the funeral for our longest serving mayor who served 20yrs, Mayor Tom Menino. He retired at 71 in Feb then was diagnosed with cancer and succombed to it. They had a great tribute to him.
Why i am telling you this I do not know. I was tearied eyed. I guess sometimes we experience triggers that our body or mind react to and somtimes we do not know why.
Wishing you a better day today.
So glad your husband is doing better.
Love
Laura
Good news about Joe. : )
Our bodies let us know what they need, you are paying attention to yours, by resting up & napping. Hope you feel refreshed Marlene.....love you my friend.
They are called sacred rest times and if everyone took them our world would be a different place. I have been involved in a class and that was the topic for yesterday. Our culture does not praise rest and that is why there are so many stress related illnesses because only during rest/sleep can our bodies do the healing work they need to do, can our dreams be manifested and our nudges from the Universe/Spirit truly come in. You have been doing just what the leaders of the class said that we each must do. Take the time for sacred rest daily (even just 5-10 minutes can suffice) and get enough sleep at night. I\'m with you on that!
Grateful to know that Joe is doing better and you take care dear friend.
My heart has been longing for my son as well so isn\'t it fascinating how connected we all truly are.
Much love and always appreciative to hear how you are doing and feeling. YOU matter!
XO Joanie
So glad Joe is improving! What a bonus his improvement must be! Sleep is such an easy and much needed way of relaxing and letting go of the stress, even for a short time, isn\'t it.
Love Gordon Lightfoot and Elton John too! I went to a concert a few years ago, Willie Nelson. He too should\'ve retired because his voice was completely shot. So sad...
I know winter is fast approaching in your neck of the woods. I envision you and Joe snuggling in and enjoying the changing seasons.
Take care of you my friend!
(((hugs))) Merrilee
So happy that you\'re still going out towards your pleasurres. Lisa would love that. Joe progressig is more good news. Sorrry about the snow, we\'re back to using ourr AC system! Santa Anna winds have hit, strrong and hot. Love, Abby
WHAT A WONDERFUL JOURNAL. I ALWAYS FEEL GUILTY IF I NAP BUT IT FEELS SO GOOD. SOME TIMES I WAKE UP FEELIN G GOOD OTHER TIMES I WAKE UP WITH A SPLITING HEADACHE.. WHY DO WE NEED SLEEP WHEN WE GET OLDER??? I ALWAYS WONDER ABOUT THAT. BLESS YOUR aNGEL LIZA. HUGS MARY ANN
Hi Mar, i haven\'t been well either. I went for my flu shoot today and i\'m feeling the effects, general malaise and a sore arm. Ears challenging me and am tired. Its 7 and am already into jammies. Miss Ami so much, even more when the season changes. Hang in there. Hugs, rose
Hope you are feeling better and how great that your husband no longer needs his injections!!! I\'m all too familiar with naps....it\'s the only time my mind shuts off. Yay that you were able to take one!
Praying for you today for moments of rest . Remembering Lisa with you and I believe Lisa & Jennifer are together creating a little mischief....and I also believe that they know WE miss them so so much!!
Hugs to you - Vicki
Gordon Lightfoot! Now that\'s a blast from the past. I believe I saw him in concert @ 1973 when I graduated from high school.
Naps are the most wonderful things to rejuvenate and revive. I could take one everyday, if my boss didn\'t mind. Weekends are perfect.
Hope you feel better. Isn\'t it so good your husband does not have to take the shots anymore. Wishing you both continued improvement.
Hugs for you & Lisa, Debbie
Marlene I do hope you get better, sleep it off LOL Joe must be happy also that the needles are gone for now. If you need sunshine you know I live in the sunshine state. You should join the snowbird theme Summers up north winters in Fl,
Sending warm hugs
