Small Life Update

I hate being here. I cant stand my family. My step-mom is doing everything in her power to get me introuble. Nothing I do is good enough. I wish my parents had just kicked me out. Me and my boyfriend broke up. I am trying so hard not to just run away. All I want is to be loved by my family and have a nice boyfriend who loves me for who I am.

I know how you feel. I really wanted away from my abusive dad but if I ran away the only person I knew I could go to would turn me in only cuz she would get in a lot of trouble and I know the feeling of wanting to feel loved. My foster mom is super nice imo and my foster brother is super cool and I'm slowly getting use to him. He has problems too and is trying hard at them. Idk what to say to try except talk to some people here if you can. That's what I did. I talked to Judy a lot here and she made me feel better until my dad got home. You can always talk to me.

It sounds like life at home is very difficult. You may have already done this, but have you sat down with your dad at a time when he's not stressed out from work and told him exactly how you feel? By that, I mean really sharing your heart. Telling your dad how much you want to feel loved by him and even your stepmom, and that you don't. Explaining to him how you always want to do what's right, and that you only get angry and say things, because you feel like he thinks you're a bad kid.

Unfortunately, your stepmom is probably going to stick around, which means you have to find a way to navigate your home life. Getting upset and lashing out won't fix it. Two people shouting at each other isn't communication - it's noise. That doesn't mean that you can't voice your opinion - you absolutely should! But you have to do so in a way that your dad will *really* hear you. Use "I" statements. For example, "When my stepmom yells at me, I feel mad, sad, scared..." Explain to your dad that you want everyone to work together to make home a peaceful place. If family counseling is a possibility for your family financially, then it might be beneficial.

Running away at your age is a bad idea. Unless you have a safe place to go (for example, to live with another family member), you will end up on the streets. You deserve a better life than that. Hugs.

Thank You. That is amazing advice. I have tried to sit down at talk to my dad and step-mom, multiple times and everytime they start yelling at me.
