Slowly trying to take him out of coma
My husband has been in an induced coma, and they are slowly trying to take him out of it. . . I have gone through the full range of imagining what will happen to him, from death to many years of coma to maybe being at least somewhat functional. A friend of his, who happens to be a specialized surgeon (NOT in brains etc) firmly sticks to the belief that I cannot assume anything, and have to just wait and see. It's been almost 3 weeks since he was taken to the hospital, and the idea of waiting an indeterminate amount of time is maddening/frustrating to say the least!
On a side note (me), since he has been in the hospital, I have been using my mobility scooter a lot! I must say, it does help me not get so tired out. However, it tipped (it's a 3 wheeler) in the first couple of days using it, and I think I have to finally recognise I have probably broken my foot.

I\'m so sorry to hear this news. I know it must be very difficult for you right now. Your husband\'s friend provides some sage advice. Try to take care of yourself. I pray your for your husband\'s recovery.
So sorry to hear about your ongoing battles. Please look after yourself - you are not a side note. Your husband\'s friend is right to that you cannot assume anything. I know it\'s hard to stay positive and I find MS gets me depressed far too easily. Know that you have friends that care about you. Blessings and light and love.
Take care of you Anne! I completely agree with the wait and see approach. I know it\'s so hard to do, but hopefully during this time he\'s been healing in a way you cannot see.
Thank you for your kind responses. . . as of a few days ago, it will have been a month. The foot has mostly healed, and can\'t use my scooter right now because I don\'t have my teenage son to help me haul it up and down the stairs, since he is away at the moment. Mom calls almost every day, which helps a lot.
