Slowly Improving
It's been about 2 weeks since I had my last Rituxan infusion. Last week, I had 2 good days where I felt almost human again. This week has been a little better with about 3-4 good days. The problem is that when I start to feel better I want to get out and do all the things I could not do when I was feeling weak. I want to rush out and go shopping, go to the mall, get some gardening done, clean the house and on and on. All that activity leads to exhaustion and the MG circle starts over again. It's hard to find that balance. The balance of doing more but still doing less. So I'm taking it very slow. I should know by now that I'm in this for the long haul. After 28 years of MG, I should know by now. Slow and steady wins the race. And I need to learn to be patient.
Do I think the Rituxan is helping? Yes, but achingly slow. Will I ever be able to stop plasma exchange? Maybe. I'm taking it one day at a time and enjoying the small victories.

Yay ! I hope you continue to improve. It\'s easier to say, ok, I need to rest rather than MG to scream to you that you need to rest. It is hard to find that balance.
Enjoy!
How long have you been on Rituxan. I will be starting it once I get approval from my insurance company. I\'m hoping to stop cellept and ivig

Thanks Barbel!
JudithWilson - I just completed my first course of Rituxan the first of September - it\'s one dose a week X 4 doses. Then a booster dose every 6 months, I think. So I\'m still waiting to see how well it works. I still get plasma exchange once a week. I\'d love to stop the plasma exchange. It\'s hard on me.
