Sleepy & Confused Ramblings
Well darn it all, I'm going thru a period where I feel like I'd almost sell my soul to get some thorough sleep & hence enjoy my days a bit more. I've just read how lack of proper sleep is such a huge issue with lupus & can actually cause your symptoms to be more active.
I've been researching Melatonin but anything I've read has so many mixed messages that now I'm totally confused.
I was at a craft sale on the weekend & this one kiosk sold a variety of bbq sauces & cooking relishes that are all cherry based & gluten free. Wow were they ever major tasty. However there was one item that so caught my eye. I'd recently read on how sour cherries & sour cherry juice is providing alot of relief for people with gout & arthritis. Cherries are a natural source of Melatonin which is a key chemical that your body releases for the sleep cycle. It's directed to take abt 2 oz an hr before bed. I was there to buy some for my husbands son for his gout but now I'm really intrigued. Can't seem to find anything confirming if it's safe for lupus though as we have overly sensitive immune systems. Of course now cause I'm in a period of poor sleep, other symptoms are showing their face, what a juggle right now I tell ya.
Life is pretty much quiet on other fronts. I've slacked off with regular exercising, bad bad girl!!! I just don't seem to have much ambition for much lately. Winter doldrums maybe although I'm usually not affected by what they call SAD.
I made two homemade fruit cakes for my hubby for Christmas. That & butter tarts are his main favs. It does a soul good when I see him praise them so much. I've just one other thing I hope & wish to make & that would be gluten free shortbread for me. So we'll see.
It appears my siblings & I will be connecting for Christmas this year. It's my youngest sisters 50th birthday on the 27th so we'll plan accordingly. We were trying to come up with something a bit outside the box & my idea was to think summer, like potato salad, coleslaw & all related summery stuff as I think winter is dreary enough as it is & people get so turkeyed out as time goes on. Any idea for thinking outside the box let me know.
Any who I shd sign off for now.
Love & hugs to all my dear friends who will read my ramblings.

Sorry to hear your not sleeping well. We did talk on the phone and hope some of those ideas might help. For your outside the box birthday party try finding a place every one likes an d eat there and have a cake brought to the table. every one wins.. just a thought.. Hope you had a nice Sunday and it was so great being able to connect and talk with you. I will be praying for you sweetie, love, Frieda
Oh hun, I\'ll send you some zzzz\'s. When I worked out (a few months ago) it always helped me sleep better... maybe that can help? You bake for your hubbie! So nice. I think I\'m passing on baking this Christmas, just will buy some from a baker..lazeeee me! I end up eating it all so avoid the temptation, right
I love your idea for her birthday/Christmas. Add the summer fruity drinks, shorts and flip flops and you are set! Play beach boys music. I\'m an event planner, let me know if you need more ideas, k?
