Sleepless with cats

Even though I went to bed last night early I was still wound up with work on my mind yesterday.  My boss had a major meltdown and snapped at me and told to handle the situation I was asking her about.  I tried not to take it personally however with my new set of financial responsibilities my job is most important right now to keep things moving forward.  They initially hired me to take on some of her responsibilities so that she could go back into retirement however, the crazy coworker that up and left thru a wrench in those spokes and I took on some of her responsibilities as well as the one I had when they hired me, so, the plan of me moving up never happened.  About that time, business slowed and she was reluctant to hire anyone to take over the coworkers job.  Yesterday at end of day, she let me know that she would be hiring someone else but she didnt know what for meaning, she'll hire someone for her position or my coworkers.  At first I was hurt however, after thinking about it I understand her position.  She took a trip last year  and during that time I kept things going while she was gone- she told me she liked how things went during that time.  I hope she gives me a chance to prove myself, but, if not that is ok.  I've decided if they leave me in the position I'm in then I will sign up for online classes and study at night.  In the event this job goes south, I will at least be working toward a goal.

With all the changes going on in my life right now, I'm trying not to load too much on myself.  I'll give it a month or two and see what happens.  In those two months I assume she will make a decision-either way I'm ok.  I would just hope they keep me on with what I'm doing now.  I was up at 4am this morning helping Roomie prepare for his California dreamin trip.  I have the house and kitty's to myself till next Fri which is nice, it will give me a chance to see how it feels being in a house alone.  With no boss today and no work I am not sure how things will go.  I feel I need to pull back emotionally at work and let things just happen. I wish the weekend would get here- I plan on working both Sat and Sun.  The last step is getting my electricity turned on for July 2.  I also need to start buying towels, flatware and basic things for the house.  Since I won't have alot to do at work, I think I'm going to make a list of what I need today.  Just things I need like shower curtain, towels, etc.  The furniture will come over time.  Have a happy day all.

You can probably get most of those items at a Goodwill, or Salvation Army store, or any second hand shop....for very little if you want to save some money. That's where most of my stuff comes from....either that or the Dollar store.

Being Ok or excepting with whatever your boss decides to do, shows a maturity that most workers don't have. ...Not knowing the immediate future would stress out alot of people..

You sound like you know what you are doing and are ready for anything. Good for you.

God Bless

Yes...alot of my things will come from thrift stores. I've often thought as finding things there as buried treasure.

Garage/yard sales can provide great bargains with social opportunities as a bonus.

For what it's worth
When I find myself getting lost in worries about the future, I work the "Let Go and Let God" philosophies. We don't *get* to know the future. The best we can do is work our best guesses today and let the future unfold by its own flow. Keep cleaning supplies handy to clean up after missed guesses. Messes are MUCH easier to clean up while they are still fresh.
