Sky Lantern

Well, SOTH, I wanted to update you on my "sky lantern lighting" on 11/26, the anniversary date of Jennifer. We tested one 2 days before which worked beautiful. The glowing light continued about 300 feet up in the dark sky then slowly faded out. So Wednesday nite, we were ready. Two sky lanterns went up perfect; I was able to look at them traveling higher and higher - wishing I could hang onto them if that meant I would see my daughter. Anyway - the 3rd lantern was lit, we held onto it until the balloon filled with hot air and took off - okay we watched it, saying Jennifer, Jennifer, Jennifer and THEN the sky lantern went sideways, caught in a ?gust of wind and went down pretty quickly, landing in the bottom of 3 huge trees in a dirt lot with moss, dry limbs, etc....Okay so do you get the picture - there was a glow of light coming from between the trees - it was FIRE......YIKES.....Jennifer's light sure was shining.... After that was seen, my husband who I was with and who is a fire captain (funny huh?) jumped over a fence, started yelling, I need fire extinguishers, water...The smoke was already coming up through the trees....It was about an 8X8 space that was burning. Jim did not want to call the fire dept because he feared we would get a big bill because we sent this 'FLAME BALL" in the sky....keep smiling because I can smile about it now.....so 3 fire extinguishers and buckets of water, 4 hours later, Jim was able to get the fire knocked down so I'm grateful for that however my spiritual, memorial to Jennifer sort of went haywire. LOL I somehow know Jennifer was looking down laughing and watching, protecting me that night.
We go to Arizona during holidays so we in a RV park with retirees there who were very helpful getting us fire extinguishers from their RV and buckets...of course they had just finished watching the sky lanterns go up and saying a prayer for Jennifer....Sweet huh? - we didn't even know them. Thought I should add that so you know where we were. We weren't in a backyard - we were on a dock by the river.
Jim and I don't live together but are in each other's lives - I know, it's weird but it's a long story and he's learning to just BE and QUIET.....Anyway - fire out, the one year has past but you all know my heart - I miss Jennifer so much that sometimes I just can't breathe. I came home today from Arizona, Monday is work so I'll be busy the next couple of days....my tears seem to sit in my eyes these past few days.
