Hubs and I got snappy with one another this morning. He felt able to risk the phone contact with the proudly litigious other grandfather to see if the GKs can visit this weekend. I was inclined to await further contact from the caseworker. My hearing weirds make litigious phone cals downright dangerous. The difference between a three and a tree is critical in litigious situations. Still, Hubs is quite good on the phonne and if he can make the arrangements, I am available to drive. I can be on the road at dawn, pick up some goodies for Hubs at the Homestead on my way to pick up the GKs at a still-too-early hour for the litigious Night Owls. Theory testing in progress, but I believe we handled that part beautifully.

Then I got to feeling the GK excitement over the farm weekend. . . I could pick them up Thursday after school, as well. Maybe even let GS give me a tour of his school? Sharing the thought with Hubs proved to be a big mistake. Sigh. . .

The good news is that it didnae escalate to full tit-for-tat. Not yet, anyway. Our doors are still closed and I am grateful that when I open mine after this venting, I willnae have to pass by his closed door on my way to the honey barn. My current lair is two steps away from the back door. I hope to start on the tool room today.

No sides taken on the Day Person v. Night Person competition. I consider myself a 24/7 person. Which hours of the day and/or night I prefer depends on where the action is on the current day.

Big hug sweetie..... I'll say a prayer that all goes well.... Please let us know..... I hear ya re the current action of the day....

I can remember being in the hospital several years ago and my pdoc while there wanted me to keep a daily journal.... I was always sort of surprised when I looked back on what I wrote and how I described my feelings at a given time.... What a difference a day makes.... xo

Still no word from the caseworker or either grandfather, but the honey barn now has her water harvesting gutters and the tool room is drying out from the pre-caulking scrub down.

No doubt about the difference a day can make, Jan. My journaling habit started in the 70's as a channel for my hyper-graphia. Since my speech defect made it so I could write prolifically before I could speak reliably, my hyper-graphia was my most intense channel for the hyper-expression which helped me earn the "Manic Depressive" dx decades before the PTSD dx was available. One of my early shrinks compared the intensity of my hyper-graphia to Marquis de Sade.

That massive collection of spiral bound notebooks with generous sprinklings of random media has become a family reference to timelines, including the difference a day can make. I recently heard a shocked tone of disdain over, "What do you mean, the next volume is on-line. . ." From a smart phone user, no less. . . No, dear. You don't get to know my Toxic Mom pseudonyms.

Hugs & support Arfie!

I’m a compulsive writer as you know. I’m now up to 6 journals that go with me everywhere.

I hope thing work out with the GK this weekend. I went through Grandma wars with my eldest, caught right between my mom & my ex’s mom who did not get along and were in the midst of a mini religious war. I had to play peace keeper but in the end we had to put a religion ban in our custody agreement that both parents had to sign off on my daughter going to one church or the other during GM visits. It’s not the same but in my own way I can relate.

Wishing you luck and hopefully an awesome weekend with GK.

Is it good news that I will let my grandchildren go before I let them be trapped in Ex-wars? Another *win* for the housing project lawyers!!! Hardest part for me in this chick flick classic is that avoidance is the closest I've come to the yaddahs of the ex blahs until now. I have lived alone quite a few years in my 38 year marriage but never visited a lawyer. I didn't see myself getting married the first time around. Repeat performance? Find yourself another clown. To my wandering senses, family is much bigger than a shared address.

Still. . . The GKs sure are cute and I think they like me, too. . .

Still no word from anybody on the four day weekend. And life goes on, complicated as ever.
