Sjogren's link to shingles

dont know if I'm doing this right but I couldn't find how to "post" so I'm using the journal.

Question: does anyone know of a connection between having shingles at a young age and developing Sjogren's ? I know Sjogren's patients are at high risk for shingles, but I'm curious about the opposite effect. I had shingles at age 13 and was just diagnosed with Sjogren's (and fibromyalgia ) at age 57.

Thanks! Sharon

I never knew about any links between the 2 illnesses. It's news to me. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I know of no link between the two, but I too had the shingles really bad. I was in my 40's then.

i have sjogrens and seropositive RA and then I had a shingles vaccine several months ago followed by an outbreak of overall blisters and pain which lasted for about four months. So - I
believe there is a connection. I am 57 as well.

Lets keep searching for the answers. I appreciate any understanding I can get

Thanks for the info
