Six weeks out from Hospital Stay Aug. 5, 2012

Since starting to notice weakness in my legs in June, it feels like a lifetime. I was lap swimming three times a week, getting ready for our August retail buying trips to Las Vegas and Seattle, and had lost 30 pounds as per doctors orders. but as I got weaker in my hips, I decided to visit my GP  and see what was up. I went every week for six weeks. we did CT scans, tons of blood tests.  First indication  was super high liver enzymes. Ast 625, Alt 435. After six weeks, my Doc gave up.  she referred me to three Neuros, none of whom could see me for 6 months. Two days later I  checked into ER.Today, I have  CPK at 2800 down from 10,000. I'm mostly in a wheelchair or bed, though on good days a walker. My Neuro assigned in the Hospital, never had treated myositis, so he's been a shot in the dark. I was on 60 mg Pred. for 4 weeks, and then we upped it to 80. Hoping  CPK goes down every week. Strength is slow to return. I have so much contractual work to do!
