Six months have passed

It has been 6 months since we lost our daughter.  It is a really hard time.  Still seems unreal at times.  I have found so much help here. If not for God, don't know how would have survived.   If anyone who needs to talk to me, I will try to help. Sometimes reading and talking is what helps.

Hello, you are one of my newer friends and I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. Our son died of an accidental overdose of prescription medication in August, 2009. It has been two full years but I still wait for him to come to the door for the holidays. Maybe he will grace us with the awful stinky, cigarette smoke he gave us last year to let us know he is still around. With my other son he pulls pranks on his remotes, changes the codes, hiding the remote and other brotherly things. So I guess I am answering both journals with my diatribe. So welcome as a new member and welcome as my friend. (((hugs))) and I might take you up on that talk. I hope you will lean on me too.
With love,

It is such a tender time in your new loss....time lines mean nothing to those of us who have lost a child....some days it seems like it was just yesterday that we received the call about our son\'s suicide....and now it seems like I have been on this earth far too long...a mountain of conflicted feelings. My heart is with you as go through the first year of significant dates....they are all difficult and you are right, without God...I can\'t even begin to think how it would have been for me....I lean on Him heavily....I am here for you, as well, my new friend....so sad that we have had to meet this way....love, dale...brandon\'s mom

The six month mark was especially difficult for me, I don\'t know why. I do know exactly how you feel. My faith in God and His answers and help have kept me alive, without the foreknowledge I had and His constant present help I would have followed her. But I know now where she is and that she is joyful and happy and this keeps me from dwelling on the horror of it all. My two therapists approach this in different ways but both very helpful. I can barely go to my house, it\'s sitting partially furnished for sale and I do have to go there a few times a month. It\'s very hard, it\'s beyond hard this is a living nightmare. I hope I don\'t have to stay here much longer because without her I have no life at all, no future at all. God bless you, my friend, this is a long, tough road.

I agree completely, talking and reading with Moms that have been through this has helped me more than anything else. Jill said that this is a living nightmare -- I think there are no better words. It\'s 8 months for me now. I cry every day. I didn\'t think that it was possible to be that sad and still survive. But I find the crying a relief that I need. I feel others pain more deeply now too. Sending love, Terry
