Sitting, Waiting, Wishing...

I was listening to that Jack Johnson song today and though the title was so appropriate.

Feeling sick and not going to see my dr until next week. I swear that every inch of my body hurts today. And I know when I tell people that they must think I'm exaggerating but it really does hurt. I know a lot of people on here can relate.

Why must some of us go through these struggles? Why are we chosen? Is it to teach us a lesson, make us stronger? I ponder over this all day long. I don't understand why bad things happen to bad people. There are convicted criminals in jail in better health than me.
Just feeling like hell today and venting...

Hi Keri,

I\'ve asked those same questions everyday since my son first lost vision in his left eye when he was 4 years old. Since then, he has lost a great deal of vision in his right eye and is now legally blind. Why a child? Why my child? He is 15 years old now and when I take a good look at the people around us I notice what a profound change he has made in their lives as well as ours. People around us tend to be more compassionate now then they were 15 years ago. They appreciate life because we have shown them how precious it is. My daughter is 18 years old and has decided to go to University to be a special needs teacher. No doubt her brother was a big part in her decision. These children will be lucky to have her and all because her brother was special needs. When I was diagnosed I again asked why but after a year I\'ve realized how close my disease has brought my daughter and son. She has had to pick up the slack for me with him and I wouldn\'t change that for the world.

Of course I now feel enough lessons have been learned and its time to get better! I know how frustrating it is to not have a diagnosis but please don\'t give up now. You will know very soon, I\'m sure. Don\'t overdo things. You need to rest your body. I found that the more I tried to do, the worse my body felt. You have only 1 week left and hopefully your questions will be answered.
Sorry, I tend to babble on. I just want you to know you are not alone. A lot of us have been where you are. And we are here for you.
Take care,
Denise xoxoxo

Hi Keri,

I love Jack Johnson by the way. He lives an amazing life I am sure.

I ask myself a lot why me. In fact before I came on and read your email I was asking God that same question. Why me? What did I do to deserve this? I was pretty demanding about it and felt bad about that. Then I checked my mail and there was a message from you. And you know what, it gave me hope. I have been following a lot of different people who have had our same symptoms and you know what I have found.... the ones who are the most determined find their answer!!!! You are very determined Keri. You are going to find your answer!!! Now tell your Dr. to travel between NY and FL lol. J/K. But you know, maybe your answer will be able to help others too hun. God doesn\'t want us to suffer, but through people like you and I, he will teach.

There is a reason for everything..... even our pain and suffering.

This just made me tear up :)

I am so glad that my email gave you some hope!

You are absolutely right about us being chosen for a reason. I want to do something good with this experience. If and when I get better I will do whatever possible to educate others - especially those suffering unnecessarily.

You are very determined as well - we will both find an answer :)
