Silence
Coming from a large family and then having 3 kids and animals in my own house for 30 years the noise level was always high. My hubby and I were just starting to appreciate the quiet now that the kids were grown and mostly gone. Just the two of us. Now that it's just me I hate the silence. We always talked. My hubby always had a story to tell and 99% of the time it ended in a laugh. I always said that's what I loved most about my Randy, that he made me laugh all the time. My life was so happy. Now it's filled with sadness and silence. I miss you honey.

That ugly sound of silence is too much. I work from home and have the TV or sometimes the radio on most of the day unless I absolutely can\'t handle the noise and concentrate. In the evening when I\'m trying to relax the TV is generally on a sitcom with a family setting so i hear the family talking and interacting. to think when my oldest kids were young i could not handle the noise and now i cannot handle the silence. It is sadly ironic.
I like the sitcoms because they are generally light in subject matter, can offer a laugh, and can provide a background with family interacting. I\'m normally doing something else while it\'s on unless I\'m about ready to go to sleep. Some nights i even have the TV on at night so it won\'t be completely quiet in the house. Hopefully it begins to improve soon... for you as well!
I agree with what Nature Pix has just said. Having a classic radio station on has made all the difference to the house. Admittedly I have moved and so it is a new pattern. The silence, the void is devastating. Try to fill your world with some sounds.
The silence is deafening sometimes. Even with music or tv on it doesn\'t help. Hopefully it will get better. Kip.
Sometimes I enjoy the silence and other times it is much too quiet. I have found that the radio helps me to a point. I hope you can find some peace. Nancy
