Sigh
It's been a few weeks since I have been on DS.....I am not sure what it is about this year but I find myself in turmoil a lot of the time. Yesterday, I posted on FB, a teacher at my school, son was tragically killed on a construction site. He was 20 and somehow the forklift he was driving, went off into a ravine, ejected him, but the forklift landed on him. Oh, sisters, you already know the journey, Nadine will find herself on, losing her son. My heart is heavy today - please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Working summer school has been absolutely exhausting!! I have had 8 schools that I have had to run back and forth and in this heat, I am exhausted. MOst of the time I'm wondering why on earth I did this... pension, pension, pension, I guess. I really feel it has taken a toll on my "well-being". School year starts 7/31........by the end of the day I have not wanted to deal with anything else.
Hunter is okay - summer school didn't go so well, but there is the fall. We are all about 2nd chances, right? I continue to see him every Tuesday for guitar and dinner.

Hello Vicki, I'm so saddened to hear of your coworker ' s son's passing. We know what she is thinking and feeling as she enters into this heartbreaking journey. I will pray for her. What is her beloved son's name?
Your summer schedule sounds exhausting, but I understand. You have to plan for your retirement but oh my, certainly does tire one out. Especially in the heat of the summer.
I'm hoping Hunter enjoys the rest of his summer and looks forward to his educational challenges in the fall. Is he considering college? Enjoy your Tuesdays with him. I know your time together means a lot to both of you.

Hello beautiful. I saw your FB post; what a horrible tragedy. My heart breaks for his mom, his family. As we all know, her world was just shattered and it will take a miracle for it to be pieced back together with tape and glue and perhaps even some cement here and there. I think that's what we do....what we are....tape, glue, and cement for each other. I will definitely be offering the tape/glue/cement of prayers for them.
Sounds like you've had very little, if any time for yourself. I'm sure that too plays a huge role in how you're feeling. Why do we always put ourselves at the bottom of our lists...if we even put ourselves on the list??? We all simply MUST learn self-care and actively participate in our own well being!! That's an order!!! :)

Oh WOW!! You definitely need some time for yourself. So sorry about your co-worker's son. His Mom will never be the same and my heart breaks for her. Yes we are all about second changes. Hunter will be ok.

Love and prayers to your coworker in this very difficult time. Life can be so difficult at times. I know you will enjoy the benefit of the extra pension when retirement comes but it is so difficult to work through the summer and the heat wears on a person. I am glad you and Hunter still have each other in your schedule. Do take care, Vicki, because if we do not take care of ourselves, we have little to rely on.

I hope you get a break before the school year starts. I understand about the pension, but you need to look after #1....you! I know nurses are notorious for handing out good advice but not following it!
I hope your weather cools. We had some very hot days - in the 90s. I don't mind it but it has really affected Joe. He is tired and sluggish all the time. Luckily, it has cooled off in the last few days. I hope your weather follows suit!
