sick again
My son, T-Man, always manages to get sick on Mondays. It's so frustrating... I know he's sick, too. Or he could have allergies with post nasal drip. All I know is he is missing school and his treatment. It was supposed to be family therapy night, also. I was anxious to get started in it. Oh well......best laid plans. What frosts me about him not feeling well is he can still smoke, despite his sore throat and headache. Whatever. Had a little incident.....he wanted to ride his bike around the block. I told him no because he didn't go to school or treatment. Minutes before his gf and friends were out front on their bikes. I don't know if he was planning on meeting up with them or not but......my rule still stood. He didn't listen and took off for 10 minutes, telling me he has to get away. I called his counselor to ask for advice on what to do (answer was obvious) but after I got off with her....he starts in...saying he REALLY needs to talk to his sponsor because he felt like he really wanted to use. Feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place. Is he using some emotional blackmail on me or is he THAT desperate? He's going to have a consequence and tomorrow I am going to let him decide between the two. I know they're both important to him. He tried to give me one that wasn't all that important. I didn't buy it.

Sorry, I had to chuckle at what you said about sore throat headache but can still smoke. sounds like you are talking about my son. Also sorry you are having a little struggle. My son too has been acting like he is about to use (not drugs) alcohol. I think the nice weather we have had the last couple of days gets him fired up! That\'s my take, a doctor may not agree. He has a interview this afternoon. PTL!!!! Hope all goes well with the consequences you are issuing to your son. Good Luck
Not that sick.....do not let this become a pattern on family therapy nights! Hope your husband is backing you up on this! It\'s so true, a day at a time. Hang in there and take care of yourself!!!!!!!!!!!
