sick day
Well Bob is on his way again after a weekend back at home. I'm not as unsettled about his leaving this time as I was a few days ago. Since I'm not feeling well at all its probably for the better as I tend to get a little bit whiny when I'm sick like this. My throat is so sore from coughing, and I am just exhausted. When I went to the doctor today I was told that I had pneumonia and was given meds to help me feel better. My son has the cold but it didn't get as bad for him as I kept him from school today and had him checked out at the doctor as well. I don't want my child getting someone else's child sick. Luckily he just has a common cold and isn't contagious so he will be off to school tomorrow. I just get really fearful when I catch a cold and start coughing as hard as I have been because I have pleurisy and this is when it tends to flare up really bad. I've been taking my meds like prescribed today and am worn out. Just awake now long enough to let the meds take effect once again and then off to night night land I go. I will more than likely hold off taking the meds in the morning until its about time for my little guy to head to school so that way I can sleep while he is at school. He's a good kid but so very active. I just can't wait to have energy to even somewhat match his. When I start losing the weight and able to move more I know that I won't get sick as easy either. These last few days, heck what I am talking about the last week, have really been bummers for me and got me down. So tonight I remembered the Don't Quit poem and found it on the internet so that I could post it on the board and in my journal. Its very inspirational to me and gives me the strength to trudge on even when I don't think I should any longer. I've been hit with a lot of downers lately but I have to keep my chin up and just keep pushing forward. Maybe I will lose some weight between now and my surgery but then again maybe I won't one thing is clear though after the surgery I surely will. I just have to in the words of Dory the fish off of 'Finding Nemo' "just keep swimming". Of course the funny thing is that I came down with pneumonia just as my back is starting to feel better. At least after watching the news today we are going to be in the 60's by Wednesday and hopefully rising after that. Welcome spring. I can't wait. Trying to decide if I should buy a bike now or wait till later. I think I am going to opt for when the taxes come in to get one so that I can use it all summer long if I don't get the surgery until late fall/early winter. Just getting through this process and getting to the surgery day will be my focus for now.
