In my day, the boys asked girls out.
There is lots of time for boys, right now you might want to think about You and Healing from sexual abuse from your uncle.
Ya, you might feel sick and tired of talking/thinking about what happened to you, but from self experience the abuse will follow you for your whole life if you don't process now.
What will happen if this boy tries to kiss you or wants more than kisses from you? How will you feel then?
If you are asking for advice, I think you should Go Slow....
I think you would be making a smart move to talk to your therapist or foster mom....I just don't want to see you in a situation that could possibly hurt you, or over whelm you right now.
Congrats on meeting a boy that you like well enough to consider asking him out! I'm glad you're making friends at your school.
Generally speaking, there is nothing wrong with a girl asking a boy out. However, what do you plan on asking him to do? Will it just be the two of you, or will you be in a group? Apart from him being cute (I'm assuming!), what makes you want to spend time with him outside of school? How do your foster parents and your therapist feel about you asking him out?
ML makes valid points about being careful and taking the time to process what you've been through. Right now, you are dealing with some major changes in your life, including the loss of someone you loved and trusted. While it's the perfect time to be making friends, it's not the right time to be pursuing anything more than that. If you'd like to chat about this further, feel free to message me. Hugs.
Relationships after sexual abuse are difficult. I know first hand. I had a hard time dating. I didn't expect that to happen. I had zero support and guidance. Im so happy you have great people helping you though. Everyone gave you great advice already so I will just say follow what they say. Good luck and I wish you the best! =D
