Should I go?
Well, I read the prior responses to my journal entry and truly took them to heart and slept on it. But I still truly think she is ignoring me/avoiding me. Several reasons. I had sent that friend request several weeks ago. It still says pending. The funny thing is, if she was not acknowledging all of my other family, I would have thought nothing of it. She is on FB every day. If she acknowledged my brother's friend request the day he joined, she would have seen mine too as it says "You have 3 friend requests" or whatever. When you open them they are all there. For David's birthday, I invited her to the party. She said "I have to check my schedule." Never showed, no phone call. As a matter of fact, last time she was here was 2 years ago (before I got Kona) the week between Christmas and New Years. She drove down with her kids and her dog. She left her car here. I watched her dog for week AND drove them to the airport AND picked them up as they went to Florida to visit my dad. AND I gave the kids a few dollars spending money. She is just rude and self centered. She hardly spoke to me at my brother's house for Thanksgiving. She did not speak to me at all at my Mom's on Christmas eve. And she hates my husband and disses him and laughs about him behind his back. I am not saying she has to spend a fortune but she makes 6 figures and she gave my son and my brother's son and my other brother's 2 kids each $20 in an envelope. NO CARD! No card to my mom either. My mom, being a hairdresser for most of my life, now is allergic to EVERYTHING. She has sores all over her body and the dr told her years ago to quit hairdressing. But obviously, she can't. What did my sister get her for Christmas? A pack of 4 hand creams, all scented, from QVC where she works, that I would bet money she got for free. My mom was pretty upset. Do I feel like confronting her at this point? Probably not. Too tired of her BS and selfishness. I have done SO much for her over the years (bringing her meals, cleaning her house when she was sick, watching her kids, you name it.) I feel so dissed right now. Now, my brother Sal calls me tonight to invite me to his house for New Year's Eve party. I am fairly certain my other brother Rob will not be there (the one I am getting alone with at the moment.) But my sister will be there and some other friends of Sal's. Most likely all divorced or single and party-ers. And it is an hour drive 1 way. My husband will drink and so I will have to drive. I just don't know if I feel like driving all the way up there just to feel bad and feel dissed and then drive home. Kind of like rubbing my nose in it. Sal didn't get anything for anybody for Christmas. Not even a card. I just don't know what is up with them. We were not raised this way! Paul wants to go. David is away so there is no big deal, except for the dog. Paul says we can leave at like 8:30pm or 9:00 pm and get there by 9:30pm to 10pm and stay until 12:30 AM. Get home by 1:30 AM. It is doable. But I get to drive home while Paul is passed out in the passenger seat. I pretty much do all of the driving anyway. So I am torn. I don't want to be a hypochrite. New Years Day, my Aunt Carol (mom's sister who I adore) is coming to watch the Penn State game with me in High Def on my big screen tv. I am making a pork roast for dinner. This particular Aunt was living in New Orleans during Katrina. We sent her money to come home and she lived with me for 6 months or so until she got a job and her own place. For this Aunt I would do it again in a heartbeat. This is also the Aunt I take to Penn State games with me as she is just as much of a Penn State nut as me. I gave her my Penn State Winter Starter coat when she moved back here as she had no Winter coat. That is how much I love her! Went and did most of my YMCA workout this morning. Did not get all the weights in. I got there a little late, and it was a little crowded and I did not have time to wait in line for the various nautilus machines. I got about 1/2 done. I am almost at my 10k steps today. Will go jog around my bedroom a few minutes to make sure I get over. Went out to eat Chinese Food with Paul tonight for dinner. Roast duck. Yum! And it was SO cold out. The nice hot tea felt so good. Oh, and an egg roll and some rice.
