Should be happy but sad
So I sold my condo in WI and received the check today which is a good thing since I moved to Louisiana to be near my daughter and already bought a townhouse here. I should be happy right? Well, I feel so sad because it is just another part of "US" gone. We were trying to sell our condo before Brad passed away to move closer to Brad's work in WI so I thought I was so ready and this would not bother me. I love being close to my daughter and she is awesome but I left my friends and some family behind. The one blessing in all of this is the UPS driver left the envelope at my neighbor's house by mistake and she brought it over. Well, she lost her husband 4 years ago and when I started crying she hugged me and said to call her anytime that she has been where I am at and understands completely. I may have met a new friend. Just needed to share!

Awww. I\'m so glad you met that nice lady. It\'s hard to uproot and move. I know. Our plans were to move as well (well I wanted to, David didn\'t). After he died I moved to be closer to my daughter. It was heaven! I felt not so alone.
However - I miss my old home and want to go back. I\'ve since moved away from daughter\'s neighbourhood (only because I wanted a house in the country where there is more space). Now, of course I miss my daughter (we\'re only 1/2 away by car, so not too bad). And still wish I hadn\'t sold my home.
Not to discourage you - everyone\'s journey is different. Maybe I\'m just not ready to move ahead yet and our home was part of that. Who knows? It sounds like you\'re off to a really good start.
Thanks for sharing - we are all here to listen and support.

I do know what you mean about not wanting to move. I thought it would be the answer but now I wonder. I can not afford to go back to WI but a part of me feels a huge loss. I love my new place and I am 15 minutes from my daughter but I can not expect her to always be over here. I miss my WI condo and I think it is because it was such a part of our life together. I hope this will pass once I find a job I can actually deal with. Do you work? I don\'t want to but I do have to financially. Thanks for writing back to me. Hugs!
Change is so hard and losing your loved one not only causes emotional loss but also changes in lifestyle that can be overwhelming. The positive note is that change can bring with it incredible experiences that in rich our lives in ways we could never have imagined.
