Shots in Sight
I told my co-worker that I'm not going to be having any margaritas as of Friday, because my shot regime is starting. He said, "I take it you're not referring to tequila shots." He he he. No. Where has he been? I thought everybody in the whole wide world knew everything about me! Apparently I haven't been talking about myself enough. No, that couldn't possibly be it. I've been on the birth control pills, to my amusement, for a little over two weeks, so the Lupron is next. I'll take the first shot this round on a plane or maybe in an airport, on my way to see my grandmother. My mom and I are going together, and I know she'll love seeing the process. She's never been This Involved before. She said her sisters are going to be very intrigued too. Yes, I'm a woman of mystery. Not. I've been very industrious in my off-period between IVFs. My friend told me she'd pay to have my filthy house cleaned by a real-life housekeeper (just a once-over), and I've been cleaning up in preparation for that. I am kind-of afraid that by the time I finish preparing for the house cleaner, the house will be too clean to need it. Actually, that might work just fine because the person she recommended has canceled twice. I'm waiting for her today, working from home for this purpose. Let's just say that if she doesn't show up, I'll probably have cleaned the bathrooms, which is the last bastion of filth. And that will be that. By the time the shots -- and fatigue -- start next week, I'm sure I'll just be able to lounge around and think, "I wouldn't change a thing" here. That's the exact opposite of what I usually think when I'm forced to "rest." I'm really not one for sitting still. I've been writing on my blog fairly consistently; I say that because I notice that I've kind-of abandoned Daily Strength journals recently. I didn't mean to! I'll be back more consistently when the Lupron starts driving me crazy. When I started the outside blog, there were certain topics I wanted to cover, namely, things that the Outside World would need to know about Infertility to be able to give us enough sympathy, and what NOT to say to us. I thought I would run out of topics, but so far I haven't. Daily Strength is absolutely my lifeline -- getting to interact with you fabulous women who automatically know what I'm going through, before I do even. But the conversations I've generated with the outside blog are really neat. I've found out that two of my friends were adopted -- and I had no idea! And I've gotten to explore topics like adoption a lot more philosophically than I ever would. I'm really enjoying it. Today the entry I write there (www.achievingconceiving.blogspot.com) is going to be about silence versus talking about it, and the effect it will have on the resulting (I hope) baby. Stay tuned. Take care, my friends. I'm thinking of all of you, but especially KerryW today because her baby is going to pop any day now! Woo-hoo!
