Short-Sale closed!

The short sale of the house finally closed (sold) -a few weeks ago, after going through the process for almost 2 YEARS! WOW! All I could do was ask God to keep giving me patience to see it through to the end. My husband on the other hand, had almost no faith at all. He didn't think it would get approved or that it would sell. He thought we would have to foreclose. It was hard having faith for 2! It was a major strain on me and between the marriage. My stomach was doing flip flops every day for the 2 years during the whole process. I couldn't sleep right, either, and still trying to retrain my self to sleep again.
My docs took me off sleeping meds a few months ago (or maybe it was longer than that.... idk). All I know it doesn't take much to go a month and only get ONE good night of sleep. He took me off the sleeping meds because of the side effects. I've tried pretty much all of the meds the VA would allow me to try. And have tried over the counter stuff, too. Nothing helps me. At least not to the point that I sleep THROUGH THE NIGHT. I wake up a lot or just can't sleep at all for most of the night. And then I'm left sleepy all day and falling asleep when I sit down or read something.
I sang my song for the National Veterans Creative Arts competition and won 1st place (at least for my category in Hawaii which then gets submitted nationally). So we'll see what happens nationally. I'll find out a few months from now. I got to sing in front of a crowd of people for the 1st time ever and they loved it!
My mom (who lives in a senior facility in OH) has been having problems with her jaw and gums lately. They found some kind of bone erosion in her jaw and a fractured molar (that they removed later) after she had been complaining about jaw pain. This is after she was complaining about rib pain and they found that she had sprained her rib after twisting down to pick something up the wrong way. She been feeling down in the dumps about it, like she's falling apart. I always try to encourage her. Jeff and I will be going to visit her in early June. She's looking forward to it!
My youngest brother Adi is stationed in the Air Force in OH.... well he has a young wife and a baby about 5 or 6 months old. Anyway, the wife took the baby and left him. She moved back to NJ to her parents. Said she wanted her "independence" and claims that after she gets a degree in something she may bring the baby back in a few years. I was shocked when my mom told me what had happened. My brother is doing what he can to drive over to NJ to visit about 2x a month. I told him to get a military lawyer in case she files for custody or tries to get him to start paying spousal pay or child support, etc. Wow.... I don't know what to think about this. Anyway.... that's all I got for now.... Hope you had a great Easter!
Take care and God bless!

Thanks for the comments! I agree, a child needs both parents! I don\'t know what she is thinking and I don\'t trust her.
