Shifting Gears

It appears as though I really did find the tee we needed to install a cut off valve to the field plumbing. The valve was installed and tested yesterday morning. I'm still to friggin cheap to pay company prices for hand digging, etc., so I sent the plumber on his way after the testing and set to installing the valve boxes and burying the excavation. I am feeling a tad bit more secure about the upcoming trench work for running the electrical lines to the barns. If my prophecy runs true and they do hit a water line between the honey barn and the big barn, I *should* at least be able to flush the toilet in the house while I wait for the field line(s) to be repaired. *Should.* Who knows what other surprises there are in the water lines on this property. Prayers in progress.

Meanwhile, GS is turning 5 on Sunday. To my mind, that is important enough to risk the domestic assumptions that are heaped on me in the Urban Homestead. GS's parental units are still being vague and elusive about the plans, but we have volunteered to host the party at the Homestead and YS likes the idea. His wife is still a closed door, but I'll risk that vaguery, too. If Mama issues one of her infamous last minute negatives, then "No" it is. No questions asked. More prayers in progress. God, please grant me patience. NOW, GODDAMIT!!!! Why do grown-ups have to be so confusing?

Sounds like lots of construction is happening over there. What color is your hard hat?

My hard hat is silver streaked brunette. Sometimes called a cranium. My head is harder than any roofing hammer.

Bring it on, Sucker. . .

This stage is remodeling 2 barns. Near enough to construction for OSHA legislation.
