She is 19 and sometimes....
Sometimes my daughter can drive me crazy. But I am trying to work on not letting her do just that. Last week, after I went for my divorce papers I went to the apt., now is her apt, as her father has agreed to pay for it, to look for a portrait I have let behind.
She fight me over it. She said it was hers, called her dad to talk to me. Her dad took her side also saying it is hers, even tought the portrait(is a portrait of hers when she was 11 years old) was an anniversary gift from him to me. He said that since I took all the albums with me (really?) she had the right to that portrait. I told my D that if she would have at least asked for it nicely I wouldn't mind giving her the portrait. She proceeded to kick me out and tell me that was her apt. and I needed to go. I got home in tears. I cried for 3 days straight.
And then since friday she has been living me little texts on my phone. "I just woke up"
"Cooking some mac n cheese" "Went to the movies today", very non-challant and like she wants to talk to me, but not really apologizing for her behaivor. Her last text about 15 min ago was: "Would like to come visit you of Sunday"
Like I said she is hot and cold. Problem is that she can be downright mean. But I figure is she comes to visit me, this is my home and my rules. I think I will answer later. Am still hurt. Am glad she is texting me. But am still a little hurt over everything.
I don't know what it is, but lately I have been reading here in DS and my friends are also telling me that D are being really difficult in general, like they turn on their mothers or fathers.
I am hopeful for a good relationship between my daughter and I. But sometimes I have to wonder...
