She and I decided that we should just be friends
We have clearly moved too fast toward sex and romance when we didn't really know each other, so we had a really great phone conversation last night and determined that we should maintain a certain physical distance, even when we get together. Hand-holding is probably OK, but no more kissing or caressing. It just complicates things. She's a very traditional Vietnamese girl and I respect that. Since I'm looking for something and someone a bit more physical, I should pursue that in another person. So sad because she's really a beautiful person, I like her a lot, we see things almost identically sometimes, I feel like I'm looking into my clone, and she brings out this sweet, senstive side of me that I didn't even know existed. (sigh) We really bond emotionally. I think we just need to work on our outer layers of intelluctualizing, free of amorous affections, and see if we bond on that level. I don't know if I can maintain the distance when I'm with her, and she obviously needs to cuddle and enjoy physical closeness too. Time will tell how this will play out...perhaps we should only be phone friends.
