Sharpening his teeth...

The monster sits in the corner of his cage.  He isn't screaming at me right now.  He isn't throwing himself at the bars.  It is a relief that he isn't doing those things at this moment.  What I see him doing is....sharpening his teeth with a file just made for that purpose.  He is waiting for his chance...waiting for that moment of weakness when I let him out of the cage. He just can't wait to get another bite of me.   I have to remember that....and realize he will never be a safe "playmate". He is not trainable. He is not controllable. He is very, very dangerous. I think I'd better keep that cage locked tight.

Locked tight indeed! I would like to wrap his cage in chains and throw it to the bottem of the ocean! He is mean and evil and I\'m tired of him preying on my family! But together we can keep him abay. Thanks for a wonderful reminder what an evil monster it is. Peace and Love, Patty

I was told that while we are resting and thinking we are \"cured\" our addictions are in the next room doing push ups. It is true we can\'t let our guard down for a min. That is why I added the gambling group to my list. Just because I haven\'t gambled in a while doesn\'t mean that the temptation still isn\'t there. Joining this group was an excellent reminder of where I was then, where I am now, and just what would happen if I caved in to that feeling of \"one time won\'t hurt me\". Keep strong hun!!

This is so true, he is always waiting to get out. I know, I let him out recently and I am still licking my wounds. : (
Thanks for reminding us he can never be trained.

And ignore him, too. Don\'t let your guard down, but don\'t pay any attention to his moans and groans. Don\'t let him know he has any impact on you at all. Monsters hate being ignored ;)

As far as keeping that cage locked tight, Dianne, throw away the key! Don\'t let that monster see the light of day, either. If you have to move the cage to the most dismal place you know of, do it. Make sure he\'s shackled inside his cage, make sure it\'s a very small cage, and don\'t hesitate to starve him. And most importantly, never forget that he is not a playmate, not anymore. If there was a cure for our addiction, it would be strong enough to slay that beast. But there isn\'t, no cure, yet. Until then, remember he can be weakened by the attention you give to your own peace of mind. Oh, I just came up with another idea...confiscate that damn monster\'s file...he\'s not allowed to have that. He\'s in a cage for a reason...let him suffer! The more miserable he is, the happier you can be. You can do one thing I sort of automatically do to my monster, you can stick your tongue out at him :p I know it\'s not a nice thing to do, but my monster hates it, so try it, it might help :p Monsters are bullies! I\'m really on a role here! It\'s Friday, I\'ve always loved Fridays :) Have a happy one, and a happy weekend, too. Love you, Robin
