Sharing the burden

Ever since my husband passed away, 6 and a half months ago, I always feel him with me. I am unsure if it's because I continue to talk about him as if he were here, I don't really feel that this is the reason or a just explanation, but I can't deny that I feel him with me. Some days it can be quite subtle, but other times Aaron is making me hear him loud and clear.
Since Aaron died, I have always talked to him in my head, and he will always reply to me. Sometimes he motivates and comforts me gently with his words, other times he is very jovial and has something funny to say. I still send him text messages to his phone that has long since lost its charge. I hear him call my name from across the street, "Jojo!!" I always turn around hoping to catch a glimpse of his new gossamer wings. Some times when I am washing the dishes, I feel him tickle the back of my neck, the same way he did when he was physically with me.
I have been so ill with flu over the last few weeks, I have been exhausted with a chest infection and tonsillitis, having had lost my voice for a few days.
A couple of nights ago, I had a dream of Aaron, which quite often I have done so since he passed. In my dream I was walking across a bridge, there was a huge body of water to cross to get to the other side, but in my dream I felt so tired, It seemed an impossible task to get to the other side. As I started walking I seen Aaron come towards me. He stopped me and said, "you look tired, jump on my back and I will piggy back you" And that's exactly what I did.
I like to write down my dreams when I wake so that I can think about them and work out what was the meaning if any. I feel this dream is by far the most powerful one I have had in regards to the burden of grief and my journey.
I felt that crossing the bridge was quite profound in representing the journey of grief, it can be exhausting and when you look to the horizon normalcy seems such a far way away. In my dream I felt I had to cross this bridge alone, but rather than Aaron walk beside me, he carried me. At that moment in time, I felt he wasn't sharing my grief but was giving me a break from it, I believe that he was also showing me that by carrying me, he was recognising that I too at times had carried him when he needed that most.
I can't explain why I have such strong realistic contact with Aaron, and I don't believe it is a severe reaction to grief either. I feel that just as he gave to me in life he is still doing so, I feel that he will always protect.

I also feel Art\'s presence. At times it is so strong and I know he is watching over me and guiding me. What a wonderful dream you had of Aaron. I had one of Art a couple months after he passed. In it I asked him if I was going to be okay and he told me yes. Brought me so much comfort. Yes, he will always protect you. Hugs. Sue
