sh found a kitten with eye sticking out has severe herpes its 4 weeks old//glucosamine molecules too
raining this morning and overcast now. went get something to eat fast food with j. they have an exhibit at the museam that i want to see. hoping to get over there as well. had the first of the t-day foods for the week. we barely do the cook thing ourselves. we grill and normally do surf and turf. for a few years i did a turkey at the house down south and then stopped because eventually it wasn't being eaten and the kids won't eat turkey, they weren't raised with it.
they had t-bones on sale, but i didn't get them because i'm supposed to avoid red meat because of cholesterol. we'll see. k made beef strogonoff. EXCELLENT. and had the first of the pies for the t-thanks week. he bought key lime by edwards, they are on sale at publix. always the top for key lime - better than making it oneself. gin martini's -- i started liking gin this year -- coffee, and wine and all the normal....creamed spinach, peas...
then ham and roast beef and cheese with j. have a card on what cheeses go with what wines. have a feeling i've done that before and it gets lost in the shuffle. lol.
sh called at 3 a.m. two days in a row, a kitten in their colony had a swollen eye, she said. went over to their facility to see it and the entire eyeball is out. brought it in and its severe herpes - the 4 week old would need both eyes out.
what is this with all the eyes. the kitten that had surgery last week and again yesterday, turned out the cat had herpes in the eye, they removed the eye. they said it effects the cornea so the cat was blind in that eye. the doctor thought it was a blood clot, but when he went in he found the herpes was behind where the eyeball had been and onto the bone, so he had to scrape the bone as well. no cone. they gave pain meds. its only a kitten around 4 months. we had another one without an eye come in. the rescuer said it was swollen out. instead the entire eyeball was out and they said the other eye had the same thing. the kitten was 4 weeks old and would lose both eyes.i talked to k about it and he said herpes is very painful to have. its also zoonotic so people can get it. then i talked to sh that has a cat with herpes called garfield. she says its cost them thousands in vet bills over the years because it get sick so much...its been a mess of a day and headed over to the clinic again now. grrrrr.
we have only had one cat with herpes before that about eight years ago. then i talk to sh and they put down a cat with herpes last year from the same colony she is feeding and no one is having those cats fixed. its practically more important to fix them than feed them. wth? in the end it will cost them more if she would do the math. a lot of what she says for the numbers on any of it doesn't add up and what she says and what mk says are always totally different. she says they are feeding behind office depot. some woman named jrly so why isn't she fixing. the conversation was going nowhere. i noticed they need new carpet at her facility as well. has she approached any of the deka-millionaires involved with animals to see if they want to buy the facility? she goes in circles when she talks. she says einstein used to only get 4 hours of sleep and she isn't einstein and she only get 2 hours. she's not making much sense. she'll waste money on things that she can have done other ways for free or way discounted and then say how broke they are because clients owe them money. on and on.
k also says he went off the glucosamine because the condroitin molecules are too large for the intestine to absorb it, so where is it going to go? could do more harm than good. then he says there is a version where they adapted the molecule but it has other dangers. so he is off both and okay anyway even with a wrist injury from falling on the ice two years ago. i ran this passed rn, who is a nurse and she says she couldn't stand up straight without the glucosamine because her back injury from work and the car accident was so bad. what a wreck old age is.
headed to rn's to pick up for shots and then headed shopping i hope. i wanted to stay home and do nothing today. guess not. need to get animal supplies as well.
