Seven weeks in...
I haven't written a journal entry for a good bit. The whole month of February (and the final week of January) have come and gone, but it doesn't seem like time has shuffled its feet like it had been post-diagnosis. Here lately, I've been doing less dying and more living.
I'm presently seeing someone, and she has really helped me maintain a positive outlook. Quite frankly, she's been the one to keep me on an even keel (not the easiest thing to do for a schizophrenic, huh? )! Her name is Stephanie, and I feel confident enough to gush about her, now that we've been together as long as we have been (without my craziness ruining things yet again). We refer to each other as boyfriend and girlfriend. We shared a Valentine's Day that was one of the best I can remember. We're at "I love you"...
That last bit scared me, if only slightly. See, I met Stephanie at such a time when I felt a relationship was the last thing I needed. I had reconciled a few things by that time...that New Year's resolution about never again dating someone I met in a drinking establishment springs to mind! As it were, January 11 was the first night I stepped out of the house feeling completely liberated, as if I weren't shackled and chained to lead weights. I guess that's when God above decided to drop such a wonderful woman (quite literally) into my lap!
So yeah, reading back on a few of the journal entries from 2013...I hafta ask myself, "What was I really worrying myself sick over?". Things are definitely on the up-and-up in 2014, and I thank God each day for the blessings bestowed on me...and that was definitely something from which I had fallen out of practice! Hmm, I guess there's a reason that Stephanie invited me to church...
