Settling the Digits

My LFL (Long Fucking List) has become chaotic. Keeping all the threads of the complex weave from tangling into even more complex knots is an on-going challenge. Gnarl, gnarl, gnash, gnash. . .

The last two nights have found me too wired to fade off with the sunset as has been my most recent custom. This morning I groaned a salute to the bewitching hour and rolled over to snooze until the sun's first rays reflected red hues through the dust particles of the prairie sky. The LFL began asserting itself before I had finished my first cup of wakeup libation, much less finished the morning meditations to which I have grown accustomed. Let's see. . . Where'd I put THAT freaking detail? Got more gnash for my gnarl?

The most prayerful item on the LFL this morning is the 6 hours of freeway driving to pick up the GKs and bring them back here. I am pretty sure I am only picking up two of them. 3 months isnae old enough to feel the change of environment as a good thing. She might do better staying in her familiar environment, but ? ? ? In actual fact, we mostly keep forgetting to talk about her. The still new and unfamiliar dialogs between grandparents has grown around the needs of a 3 and 5 year old. I still haven't met the new girl in the exly snot knot. I bet she looks like a baby. Will I lose my Granny Award Nomination if I shrug and say all babies look alike to me? Pretty much act alike, too. Character takes time to grow. Still, I am looking forward to letting the older siblings introduce me to her. We'll discuss the logistics of introducing her to the honey farm while I am meeting her. So hopeth The Arf. Just hoping. . . On the LFL, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Thankfully, the other humans on the LFL have settled into their respective LFLs and have left me to settle the chaotic digits in my neural pathways before I set off for the drive. All have promised to help me keep the LOL on my LFL.

I think I have just enough time for a power nap. Prayers appreciated. Why do I never feel free on a freeway?

By now you are on your way so prayers that your road are clear.
Do you need a t-shirt that says no talking before the third cup?

I haven't had very many visits with the new g grand either. Partly due to weather and illnesses of the parties. They finally understand sniffle to them is pneumonia risk for me. But I will see his cuteness on Sunday, but at 2 months it will be a coo-coo di-doo time. I know that he is just beginning to focus now and I am less likely to be a blur. Soon the baby belly laughs will start, I can't wait.

Hugs and I will try to keep the drizzle line my way.

Hug & hope you have a wonderful introduction to the newest Gk. I’m don’t miss driving on those freeways so I completely empathize on not feeling free. Now if we’re talking autobahns...., that’s freedom, except when you are going 130km and get passed by a ATV. Porsche, BMW, Audi..., no issues but getting passed by a souped up 4-wheeler is just.... embarrassing.

Hugs & loves, Arfie.

Yea, too much freedom on the freeway can be lethal. Ditto for driving in driveways and parking on parkways. When I was driving the autobahns, West Germany had the lowest accident rate in the world, but they also had the highest traffic mortality rate in the world. Don't mess with Mister In-between. When they *do* have accidents, they are doozies. I'm not sure I felt any freer on the autobahns or the autopistas, either, but the traffic was far less chaotic. It's much, much harder to get a driver's license in West Europe and it shows in more ways than one.

I feel much freer on mass transit. I can't drive to China. On mass transit, this bus leads to that bus to airports or shipping ports to. . . All 7 continents and gobs of islands in between. But my favorite part of mass transit is being free to window gaze out a moving window. Girl howdy, that frees my psyche for the day dream opportunities. Hubby likes to keep me weighted down with vehicle ownership responsibility. When I'm driving, he at least knows which continent I am on.

Generous rounds of traffic gridlock turned the 6 hours of freeway driving into 8 hours. I've survived worse with far less to show for the effort. Here we are. The fun has begun. Just two of the GKs. There was general agreement that the baby would do better in the other grandparent house where she has been since she was taken from her parents at the hospital. Yup, she looks just like a healthy, 3 month old baby. Triple G. Grow, girl, grow.
