Setting some goals for myself
So, I ended up working out last night after all. I did 100 sit-ups on my weight lifting bench at home then went to the gym and did 5 miles in 30 minutes on the recumbent bike. It's a slow start, but a good start nonetheless. I will be keeping track of my workouts on here and post a journal entry after each workout.
I was happy that I did 100 sit-ups, because I used to do at least 100 sit-ups everyday for a good while, so I was glad that I was still able to do that many. Like they say, "Take one step at a time". I'll be well on my way to my health and fitness goals as long as I stay consistent with my workouts and eat healthy.
That's one of my goals for right now. My other goal is to stay focused in school. This weekend I've got some homework to catch up on in my Macroeconomics class and some studying to do for Logic & Design. My future goal with school is to graduate with my bachelor's degree in Computer Science majoring in Database Programming. I'd like to find a good position with a reputable company or land a telecommuting job so I can work from home. I'd love to find a job in my area, that would be awesome.
One of my other goals is to have a stronger relationship with my family. We've gone through a lot through the years as a family, and I feel somewhat distant from them. Especially with it being the holiday season and everything I'd like us to be closer in our relationships. I know it won't happen overnight, but I can be more active and involved with my family starting today. I can spend more time with my mom, watching shows with her, talking with her and doing chores with her. I can go to my sister Nina's house more often and visit my nieces and talk to Nina more often like we used to. I can stay in contact with my Dad through e-mails and send him packages while he's out to sea. I can keep in contact more with my eldest sister Cristina and talk to her more often even though she and her family are in another state right now. I can also reach out to my younger sister and have more communication with her and rebuild our strong relationship that we used to have. If anything, that 's what I'd like to have this Christmas and into the future is to be more involved with my family.
Other than that, I want to make sure I keep up with taking my medications and remain stable also. Keep up with my appointments with my Psychiatrist and nurse, as well as my oncologist and physician.
I think this next year will be a lot better especially because I'm heading into it with a good mind set and some great goals to work towards.
