Seroquel Withdrawal ?

Our primary care  doctor has decided to stop the seroquel that hubby is taking. The neurologist is in agreement. But they don't seem to know how to slowly reduce the Seroquel.  I have been on the internet and can see all of the things that might happen. Has anyone been taking Seroquel and stopped?  If so would you share with me what happens? thanks

Hi, Firelady,
My Baron was on it for a few months. He hadmedicine-induceddementia and it was pretty rough. After being hospitalized for almost two weeks, they tried him on Seroquel and he got much better, to the point that they let him come home: they were thinking of institutionalizing him. He was taken off of it six months later--cold turkey. He suffered no side effects and to this day has not had a relapse. Hope this helps you some.

Thank you! I appreciate your response. I think one of the problems is that we lived out of state and our doctor there prescribed Seroquel. Then when we moved the new doctors just kept refilling the script. I am hopeful that we can reduce and then stop. I have found that our friends here on DS are a wealth of information and are glad to share. Thanks again !
