Seriously? Can't a girl get a break?
I just signed up for this site on a friends recommendation that has been through IVF and all the trials and tribulations that it entails. Here is my story:
I've been married over 11 years to a wonderful man who is in the Air Force. We have been stationed at Edwards AFB since 2003 (he got here in 2002). We've been TTC for over 10 years and we only learned about a the IVF program at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego about a year ago (and completely by chance). We tested, and were told we would have to do IVF (blocked tubes) and that we would be on the wait-list for about a year. Fast forward to April and BAM! We find out we have orders to another base in Las Vegas and have to be there no later than 10 Sept. In the midst of all this we get called up for our cycle and will be starting in July. The hubby is going away for training for the month of June and I am left at home trying to keep everything together. Our house is currently on the market, and we are shopping for a new house in Vegas. I am also a full time student and work full time so it is going to be an interesting summer for me to say the least. I am also trying to line up employment so that we don't lose my income for too long, especially if we are going to have a baby on the way. We are very lucky that we have this opportunity to do IVF at a significantly reduced rate (otherwise we wouldn't be able to do it at all). It just seems like it is horrible timing and I don't know how I am going to do it all. I just have to dig deep, find the strength, and know that I will survive it all (though not without scars of some sort I am sure).
I really wish I could fast forward to mid September and have the move and cycle behind me and be going to work and dealing with morning sickness. But I have to do the hard work to reap the rewards. So here goes. Wish me luck and it is probably a good thing that my hubby is escaping for a bit. :D Because who knows what kind of emotions I am going to exhibit while waiting for everything to happen.
I look forward to getting to know others who know what I am going through and sharing our war stories. I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend and was able to take a moment to remember those that have served and paid the ultimate price. God Bless.

Again...welcome to the site!! I can tell you that timing for this is always bad!! It NEVER happens when you plan out everything. I know it is going to be rough but I\'m pretty confident that you are one tuff gal!!! I know you can handle it all. I really believe that you will find some incredible women (and a few men) on here who will gladly share their stories and give you the strength and encouragement you will need to get through all of this!!!
I am here for you!!!
Thanks chickie, you are an amazing person and I am so glad that our husbands work together and gossip like girls so that we could meet and share our TTC and IVF adventures. That is how I am going to try looking at everything, it is an adventure and I can\'t control it, I can only go with the flow.
The timing always seems to be off when it comes to things working out! LOL. You can do it! Just start organizing etc now so you don\'t feel as stressed when you are in cycle and getting ready for the movers to show up! Good luck!
Thanks LMWT. I wish we were using movers! In an attempt to make some money on this move we are moving ourselves. At least I am packing and moving boxes to storage ahead of time so the move should be simpler. At least for me if I get pregnant, since he will be doing all the work. This is one that one time in our lives that my hubby appreciates my OCD. :D
You are brave doing it all yourselves! At least the move is not across the country! I get the OCD with moving. My sister is a single mom and in the military. She PCSs at the end of June/beginning of July and she has already color coordinated cabinets and drawers. Her next post is only for 10-12 months for school, so she does not want to have to unpack EVERYTHING. So she is color coding everything as unpack or not, or needing to be accessible or not. I think moving that much can make you OCD! Good luck with it all!
Your sister is being very smart with the move LMWT! It\'s hard when you know you are only moving for a short while and then it\'s everything you own back in boxes. We are trying to save and earn as much money as possible before I have to leave my job and move which is why we are trying to do a full DITY move. But that is only if we sell our house, close escrow and clear our VA loan to use again and close escrow on the new house. I just have to focus on what is immediately in front of me which is hubby going to Texas and me focusing on selling the house, work and my classes that start in 2 weeks. We\'ll deal with July and our cycle in July. I am really anxious to just get everything over with. My hubby always tells me that I rush through everything and that I just need to enjoy the moment. He doesn\'t get that I can\'t enjoy the moment until I have a plan or schedule and know that in this moment I have nothing that I have to do and I can enjoy myself.
