Serenity
God grant me the serenityTo accept the things I cannot change,Courage to change the things I can,And the wisdom to know the difference.... I don't understand it but I have to remember what is important. And I have to remember that my husband and I have no control over T's decisions. We just received an e-mail reply from T's Home Construction teacher that T is blowing off his make-up work....two tests and two projects. The teacher told us that our son is one of the most talented students he's ever had and yet.........he's choosing to fail. I had asked the teacher to keep us informed but he didn't and now this. I also know that it really doesn't matter, however, whether the teacher informed us or not because I'm not sure whether T would have done anything. I have mixed feelings about whether we should have stayed more on top of it or let Todd handle it himself. He really struggles with concentrating. He told me he can't even read a book at this point. He lost his 3rd IPOD recently so it isn't that he can even keep track of the things he cherishes. What is important? He's healthy/clean as far as we can tell. Maybe this just isn't his time to work hard in school. I know it is better when it comes from within. If he fails this class, and fails English (not sure where he is with history) he will have a whole year to finish. I CAN'T even seeing that for next year at this school. Before this semester he only had 2 1/2 classes to pass.. So like I said........the most important thing is he's "healthy" (smoking aside). I have been thinking that perhaps we could send him to boarding school to get away and to get individualized attention, if he would agree to it. This could be his college. I doubt, based on his past performance, that he will be attending college anytime soon. He is such a bright boy with some issues that I pray with time and maturity he will blossom.
