Separation

The separation is almost complete.  The separation from my former job after eightteen years.  The last check from the severance package is in the bank.  The retirement check is in my savings account.  Now, the final separation will begin,,changing banks.  I used my present bank because it was the bank on the payroll check and the original owner of the TV station owned the bank.  It was easy to cash the pay check.  Plus, it was just across the parking lot.  Now, it's not convenient.  It is on the way to work and I pass by it five days a week, but if I needed something there on my day off, it was a good ways to drive.  I've stayed with the bank to get the severance money without interuption.  Now that part's over.  There's a bank right next to the grocery store I go to that my dad used.  I'll go there.  I'll have to learn new faces and new hours, but that's a small problem.  The new bank will be the final step. On a happier note, I continue to learn at the new job.  I am doing more on my own every day.  The mechanics are better and the voice continues to be my best tool.  And I seem to have a way to connect with the callers and can calm most of the mad callers.  A joke, a recognition of their city or town, or sports club, or weather, or even their name, gives me an "in" that allows me to help them.  And that's what I do.  I help them.  Sure, we're supposed to sell, but I don't let that get in the way of helping them, even to the point, sometimes, of recommending a SMALLER plan if they're not using all their minutes.  But, a larger plan might help them too if they're using more minutes that is in their plan.  You would be amazed at the cost of billed minutes when the plan minutes are exceeded.  Our callers come first and we will work hard to get them what they need.  COMMERCIAL!!!!  If your mobile service isn't with the guys with the rollover minutes, check us out.  I know we can give you what you truely need.  I really like my job.  Sure, not all callers are happy.  If they were, I wouldn't have a job.  But, by the time we've talked to them, they usually are or understand why.  And, if you live in the northeast, who knows, you might talk to me.
