Sent to the Back Burner
Got a most distressing call a couple of days ago. Dr. Bright has to be out of town the week my surgery was scheduled and the next available surgical date is over a month later. So depressing. I've spent endless hours getting my head in the right place and getting all my ducks in a row (schedules, money to cover time off etc.) I liken it to being deployed to a war zone and being stuck in the back waiting to be called to front lines. Adrenaline flowing, gun in hand, no one to fight.
The other part of this that is quite distressing is the fact that it puts my recovery period over the holidays...so I'll be doomed to pureed Thanksgiving dinner.
On the other hand (and there's always an other hand), it will give me longer to save up $. It also gives me time to do some experimenting with foods and protein powders so that by the time those are my only options I'll know what is edible/drinkable and what makes me gag.
But despite all the good reasons, I just wish I was on the road toward my goal.
