Self-Control by Others
I should not be allowed to do anything. A dear friend sent me some brownies, and much to my appreciation and approval, my husband hid them after I'd had a handful. Today I have been looking at maternity clothes online at Pea in the Pod and Mimi Maternity. Why am I letting myself do this? Or why have OTHER PEOPLE allowed me to do this? It's just waking up the barely-buried tug in my heart. Come on, Behavior Police, I can't be expected to make wise Internet choices on my own, any more than I can be expected to refrain from the third brownie. In other news, I worked out yesterday even though I didn't feel like it. I was thinking on the way to the gym, in fact, that what I wanted was TO HAVE worked out. But there's only one way to get there. Working out. I did it. And now I'm going to mark off some progress on my "goal."
