Self Control
I was very proud of myself yesterday. My son is a band section leader and he had all of his lower classman over to show them the marching french horn. I put out some snacks and made them Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies. Cookies are a particular weakness for me so I wasn't sure I was going to be able to handle it, but I just really don't want my kids (who are thin with no food issues) to miss out on life's pleasures because of my issues. So, I treated them like I do when I do cake decorating, I treat them like a inedible project. I didn't eat any until the cookies were presented to the kids, and then I only had one with them and one later when I cooked another batch for my husband. To eat only two cookies is an extreme amount of self control for me. I enjoyed them, tracked them on my calorie counter, but did not go to that crazy place. I was very proud of myself.
