Self Care
Here in week two of the girls being in daycare, I have yet to experience two consecutive days off from the demands of 24/7 childcare since the custody shift on August 14th. Dare I hope today will be the first? Just hoping. . . The shock to my senior system has been considerable. In my first parenting career, I acquired my charges one at a time with plenty of notice. Acquiring 3 at once on short notice would have set an entirely different tone for my first parenting career, even without the senior aches and limitations. Then we get to the shock of the sudden death of my son and his wife not quite 2 months ago. . . This shit storm season was already a month or two into battering hard before the custody shift. Most of those yaddah blahs continue glaring ominously from corners. Which which do I witch first?
The morning is still young. For now, I am reminding myself that rest is a productive activity. I amnae tired enough to sleep, but I am guessing it is okay if I just piddle aimlessly in a spirit of self-indulgence. Balance in all things, including focus. Too much focus creates tunnel vision. At least, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it at least long enough to finish this sentence.

Congrats on a morning uninterrupted. Enjoy it.
Rest is definitely a productive activity, arf. Hope you get to produce lots more of it!
Quiet times are the best. I was just thinking this morning about feeling like a rat on a wheel. When your in the thick of things and things finally calm down, it is hard to stop the wheel for a moment, atleast that's how it is for me-I'm afraid if I stop the wheel will rust up and won't turn anymore:) Prayers for more quiet times for you to relax.
Yes, self care is much needed, and well deserved human endeavor. Piddle away arfie. Triple hugs
