Self Care
I am trying to practice more self care. When I get in these long bouts of depression, Ill stop eating, wash my hair once a week and just sleep.
I think I just love sleep. I look forward to coming home, relaxing and just sleeping. I was up this morning taking care of myself. Im going to try and start taking yoga classes. Normally yoga would be too slow for me as I tend to be impatient but as I find myself slowing to smell the unidentified plant babies on my back porch It might be a good time.
Yesterday a friend reminded me this time last year that a 15 minute commute across town bugged me and now i can easily commute 40 minutes to work everymorning. Ive made it my quiet time. Its a good time to listen to motivational speeches or piano music before i start my day. Yesterday i made my reservations for treehouse for Labor Day weekend. I hope I get my own treehouse, they cant promise you one but they can promise you a bed. My birthday present to me. I think Im starting to find a little serenity.

I think of sleep as a magic time machine for those days where fewer hours are better. I go to sleep today and wake up hours into the future. But too many days like that are depressing by any measure. Therapy work is far more effective for curing the cause of days like that than playing time traveler. Seems like those psych symptoms can find me anywhere. Even the future.
Slowing to smell unidentified plants is great therapy in Arf World. I believe smell is the way plants communicate and what baby doesn't like to be listened too. For me, it is the best aromatherapy, ever.
Did you learn any chicken names during your first treehouse retreat? A second retreat is a great birthday present to yourself.
