Seeking and Finding Peace...
I took a trip to Delaware with my brother, his wife, and my two-month old nephew to my sister-in-law's Thanksgiving celebration. Chicago just wasn't feasible and we will all be traveling there for Christmas. So many roadblocks tried to prevent me from going, but my new mentality allowed me to not dwell in the problem, but rather find a reasonable and attainable solution.
As we drove, I was captivated by the sun and the scenery. Every natural presence consumed me as we cruised down I-95. There is a certain sense of peace that falls over you when you decide to live life the way you should instead of how you thought you should. I am now at peace with myself, grateful for who I am and who I am not, content with what I have and no longer envious of the things I do not possess.
Take joy in the little things...the people, the events, the settings that matter the most. Don't dwell on things that you cannot change, for it will only lead to self-pity and misery, which in turn lead to bad decisions.
I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday as much as I did. Engaging with family instead of sitting at a Blackjack table was surely a rewarding experience and worth so much more than any amount of money I could have won or was likely to lose.
