seeing him tomorrow

I'm a bit nervous meeting the assistant principal at the high school.  If it was just my presentation I was showing him it wouldn't be as difficult BUT I have a request and I am afraid the answer isn't what I'm hoping to hear.  And what if he cannot fulfill my request?  Do I fight for it?  Do I let it go?  Will I have to fight for it?   I need to ask him about an opening at the on-line school the district pays for - for students who cannot manage in a regular school setting.  This position was offered a few times and my son turned it down.  At my son's I.E.P. meeting last year - the principal promised to save the spot for him for the fall.  Unfortunately, things have changed since then and we never brought it up at the last I.E.P. meeting because I thought T was headed in the right direction and wasn't going to fail or miss so much school after the last meeting.  The administration was pretty fed up with him so he may have blown his chances.  Since he does have an I.E.P., failed more classes, he may be in the running.  He may have a leg up if the other students don't have an I.E.P..  All speculation.  Just trying to prepare myself.  T repeated to me that he does want to do the on-line school.  I hope this works out.
