SECOND WEEK ON LOW GLYCEMIC

Was very pleased when I recorded my weight loss for the second week.  The first week I had lost a pound.  I had set a goal for 1.5 lbs. the second week. If I'm going to make my larger goal of 10 lbs. in 6 weeks, I need to be losing 1.5 lbs. a week.
Imagine my delight when my loss for Week Two was 1.9 lbs.  Wow!  I was so happy.  Almost 2 lbs.! I haven't lost 1.9 lbs. in a single week in FIVE YEARS.  I am totally serious, people.  My metabolism was always low, and even with Synthroid for my thyroid, I rarely lose more than 3/4 lb. or 1 lb. in a week now that I'm 64.  Five years ago, at age 59, when I first started Weight Watchers, I did lose 2 l/2 lbs. the first week.  But soon my aveage loss was only 1.5 lbs. week.  For me to lose 1.9 lbs. this week REALLY THRILLED ME.
Eating according to the Glycemic Index is quite simple.  I would be glad to work one-on-one with any of my friends on DS who might want to do it. There really is something to the theory that avoiding blood sugar and insulin problems is the KEY TO CONTROLLING APPETITE.  I was less hungry and less moody.  Normally on a diet I'm ready to choke somebody, I get so irritable. I was also less hungry at bedtime.
THANK YOU ALL MY FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS. You are such good people!  Judy

Great on the weight loss. I keep saying I\'m going to look into the GI diet--just doesn\'t seem to be enough time.

The GI DIET is so simple. Just Google it to learn the best foods to eat. I\'m finding it easier to control both hunger cravings and mood swings by keeping my blood sugar stable. My first rule is \"never eat a sugar or starch food all by itself. Combine it with a protein serving.\"
