Second colonoscopy

I'm having my second colonoscopy tomorrow instead of in October because of all of the problems I've been having. I know that bowel problems and soreness are normal after colon resection and that they will last a year or more. I was doing better for a while but it all went downhill a week after finishing an antibiotic. During that time I had diarrhea every other day for about 4 days. After that constipation. At first the lax-a-day(same as miralax) helped but then suddenly l started having accidents with lax-a-day. I started getting really bloated no matter what I ate then started having pain after eating. I started getting really bad cramping on the right side. Now, I have more accidents, get diarrhea more often and get horrible bowel spasms! Last night I was very very bloated for a long time! I'm concerned because I was doing better and now I'm not. Prep is never fun. Not sure if having the diarrhea this morning will make the prep easier or harder. I'm glad it's a colonoscopy and not a sigmoidoscopy because my surgeon will look at my entire colon. If there's narrowing again he will dilate with the saline balloon again.

Thanks Ron, I will. I gagged drinking the last of the first packet of pico salax prep but kept things down. Good luck with your prep and colonoscopy too.

Yes, the prep can be bad. But I\'m so glad they are looking into it! You deserve calmer waters for sure. My body has a love/hate relationship with antibiotics. It\'s thankful they exist but hates the path of unbalanced bacteria hell they leave when they\'re done! I have to make sure I take more probiotics while on them. And even then, it takes a while to balance. Hoping they can help relieve your symptoms my friend. The constant cycle of constipation and diarrhea is very hard! Sending you lots of light, love and strength to help you during your prep and procedure Keep us posted!

Thank you loveandlighttoyou! This prep day has been much harder than the other one. I had diarrhea last night and this morning. The prep worked much more quickly. I\'ve been having lots of spasms and cramps. I can\'t drink anymore clear liquids because I\'m feeling too bloated. I hope they can help relieve my symptoms. I will post a journal regarding tomorrow\'s outcome.

I hope all goes well for you tomorrow and me as well as I can\'t go and am I\'m extreme pain again. I\'m impacted. I need to go but my body won\'t. I\'m also having trouble and feel my ovarian Cyst is bursting soon. This means it will get infected. This breaks my heart because every pain gives me a flashback of when I lost my babies. It\'s not good at all. I\'m also extremely nauseous and have thrown up some today. I should not have have pepto Bismol two days ago to make me stop throwing up. I had to. It reminded me of when I had hyperemesis and I couldn\'t handle it anymore.

I hope all goes well today too! I\'m so hungry and tired. I can\'t drink anything else two hours before I\'m due at the hospital. I\'m sorry you\'re in so much pain from being impacted and the cyst!*hugs* Maybe suppositories could help? I used them once for impaction and they worked. I hope that you are able to get things moving again. I hope you don\'t have to spend all day in the hospital!*hugs*
