I just signed up for Healthcare my medicare has not started yet. Plan was gold through Blue Care network HMO. This is what I discovered.
Before I signed up for this insurance I contacted Blue Cross & asked if these meds were covered. The answer was yes with a pre-authorization. I now find out that the doctors on this plan do not believe in prescribing these meds. Blue Cross does not deny meds there doctors just wont perscribe them. Bureaucratic trick to say we pay for the meds but you really dont.
I have been a social worker for CMH for over 10 years. I had a CAC-M
Liscense # 1-04326 therefore I know about these drugs. I also know when Im getting the run around. Ill be filing formal charges after I get back from the hospital. My current doctor spent along time getting my meds balanced now Blue Cross doctors want to play around. If anyone knows how to get Blue Cross to perscribe meds please let me know. Thanks
