scrapbook page

I finally got my scrapbook page done, thanks to my awesome daughter-in-law.  She is very crafty (a graphic artist actually) so it actually got finished.  What an emotional task.  It brought back so many memories.  I loved seeing Lisa as a baby - so long ago.  But I just cried because we can't create memories together any more.
We've had a good 2 days with our granddaughter.  We came to Edmonton yesterday and went out for dinner at the Olive Garden.  My son had us all laughing uproariously.  He loves to tease Cevyn and she rather enjoys it.
Today we spent the day at West Edmonton Mall - it is one of the largest malls in N. America (It was the largest when it was built I think there are now one or 2 that are bigger.  It is tradition for us to shop there with Tiina (my DIL).
And tonight, the scrapbook. I invited Cevyn but she is not ready to do that.  I think she is embarrassed to cry in front of people.  I know she has her baby book in her drawer.  Lisa wrote her a letter in it when she was born.  She asked me if I thought she was crazy.  I said absolutely not.  I never ever thought that I would be the one to look for and find for Cevyn.  I had to ask Lisa to help me find it and she did.
So tomorrow we go back home again. I think we are going to the zoo on Saturday - we have a penquin exhibition that is supposed to be excellent.
I am so glad to have this time with my awesome granddaughter.
Lisa:  I miss you so much.  I loved going through the photos but it just made me sad right now. Cevyn is a wonderful kid.  She is doing you proud.  You would have loved being at dinner with us - you always enjoyed Andrew's antics.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

Grateful that your visit has been a heartfelt one. Oh, I did my scrapbook page last week (that is why we made it optional) and both my husband and I shed tears. It did feel so surreal and to not be able to create anymore times shared with our children does hurt.

Take care and I know you\'lll be starting out on your trip to Utah soon so drive safely and be well.

With love and savor those hugs you are sharing with your granddaughter. It\'s a huge piece of Lisa you are feeling and all the generations that have come before.

Glad that you are having a good visit...those grandies are awesome. I made a photo book of Alex last fall...it was hard to piece together pics from his life...so many memories...and no more to be made. My scrapbook page is very basic...I am sure it will not be as creative as everyone elses...love and hugs...Karen

I did not do a scrapbk page This is something I can work on through out the next yr and add it to the book on our next retreat. But I did finish my other project for the bags for everyone, my one question aabout that is do I put my card with my project or not......
It sounds like you had a great time with Cevyn, I cannot waite till little Mikie gets older to spend more time with him( he is 3 ) Then I will be able to tell him stories of his father so he will get to know him.
How old is Cevyn? Does she see your tears? maybe then she will shed hers. Our souls need to let go every now and then.
See you later, hugs Penny
