School & The Business
"I can't give you a sure-fire formula for success, but I can give you a formula for failure: Try to please everybody all the time." – Herbert Bayard SwopeI completed my last test before my finals. I am quite excited that this is all coming to a close but also scared to bits. In the mean time I am looking for job openings in my field and starting to question whether or not I did the right thing in becoming a Master Herbalist. Grant it I wanted to become such for the knowledge and to add that aspect to my growing business. However, last year I put my business on hold and wound it back some so I could focus on school. This year I wish to go full force with the business but I need funds to do it. Thus, I need a job…either in my field or some crappy job to bring in some cash. The downside is we are a one car family and live out in the country away from walking distance of anything (getting a taxi to shuttle me back and forth to work would cost a pretty penny). Husband works odd ball hours leaving at 6am and getting home anywhere from 5-6:30 in the evening not to mention he uses the car to drive down to conferences. I am trying so hard to find something online or something I can do from home. I have applied to several places and I am waiting on word back. At this point I feel quite worthless. I want to dive into everything I put on hold and get things going again. Husband said it doesn’t matter about the car situation, that we will work it out but let’s be honest…it won’t work out. I have no family and no friends to get a lift from so basically I am screwed. So, you know me…I am formulating a plan. I was thinking of a cheap yet effective marketing plan for the business. If I can get some revenue from the business in perhaps I can generate enough to get it back up and online properly! I think I just need to brain storm instead of being upset. I have some ideas but I need to see how I can make them into reality and make them WORK! Wish me luck! ~Bright Blessings~Rea
